I have not been posting lately which sucks but I've actually been back on the bandwagon with knitting. Yesterday I got off work at 1:30pm after a long day of Starbucks frenzy's and being on 2 hours of sleep, I did not feel like going home to sleep. I felt like sitting going to a cafe alone to spend my time knitting and sipping on a nice cup of tea. So I decided to let go of my fear of being surrounded by experienced knitters and checked out The Knit Cafe on 1050 Queen Street West.
I got to the cafe at a little after 2pm and it wasn't really busy. There were probably about 6 people in the store (including myself). There were two customers who looked like going to the knit cafe was like a weekly ritual for them. It was really beautiful to see women share their experiences of their home life and discuss about knitting projects. I did feel intimidated at first to sit and knit, but I slowly eased into it and felt like I was floating on yarn ball cloud. One of the workers offered to rewind my ball of yarn for me so that my project would be easier to work with. I decided to take apart the hat I am making for my nephew Reuben because I screwed up on one of my cables and this is the third cable project I've been working on so I don't know yet how to fix my mistakes for cables.
The pattern that I am using is called Cabled Baby Hats and I am doing the 10 cabled baby hat pattern. and this is the current status of the hat
I cannot wait for this lil guy to wear one out of the two hats I am making him <3
